What is earth hour?
Earth Hour event is a global environmental event where individuals and organizations participate through switching off unnecessary lighting for one hour of a specific day, not for the purpose of restricting electricity consumption but to show human ability to reduce carbon dioxide gas emissions which result from burning fossil fuel, that is considered the main cause for Global Warming Phenomenon.
Kuwait Team for Global Warming
A group of Kuwaiti university students at the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum participated for the first time in the Earth hour campaign in 2008 inspired by the first Earth hour that occured in Sydney.
From then, they establised the Kuwait Team for Global warming, also known as KT4GW where they aim to encourage the people of Kuwait to embrace environmental change in order to balance the effects of oil production and engage in this global contribution of reducing carbon emissions.
